Quilts and Such

As we settle in to the new abode,
I'm finding time to get my little Etsy shop
back up and running!

If you're so inclined, and in the market for quilts,
quilt tops that need finishing,
check it out!

I'll be back with a stitching update soon!

About The Knitting

I didn't mean to be gone for so long!
But I've been knitting!

If you follow me on Instagram (kwiltykimknits2), then you'll
be familiar with some of the photos.
And some of the news!

The Wearwithall Stole is OFF THE NEEDLES!

Wearwithall Stole - Isager Alpaca 2 yarn - purchased at The Yarnery
I did the final bind off on Monday evening!
And it's sat here, in this place, since then.  I need to weave in the ends and block it out a bit,
but do you think I can find my darning needles?
I know exactly where they were before the move,
but just can't find them right now!  But I'm sure they'll surface and then I can get that stole complete
and get some proper photos!
I think that it's the biggest thing I've ever knit.
But so worth every stitch!

With that complete, and my hands idle, I picked up my Hayward sweater
and started to work on the front panel.

Hayward Sweater - Bugga! in American Rubyspot by The Verdant Gryphon
But you know...this curling is making me nuts!
I'll get back to it another time, but for now I couldn't stand the curling in my hands!

I picked up the sock that lives beside the couch...

Vanilla sock - Berroco
I knit a few rounds...and pondered the next project.
And it didn't take long for me to decide!

I loaded up my knitting bag
(ahem....Green Mountain Knitting Bags by Martha..check them out on Thursday evenings!  Fabulous bags!)
with the next project.

Rowan Kidsilk Haze Stripe
My first time working with Rowan Kidsilk Haze...
and this is the Kidsilk Haze Stripe by Kaffe Fassett.
Four different colorways,
that will hopefully all play nicely...

I've cast on the Color Play Mohair Wrap from
Churchmouse Yarns and Teas.
And let me tell you...
this yarn...
Seriously luxurious.
I'm loving it!

I've been getting a lot of podcasts in,
and have a love of the knitting ones!
I've thoroughly enjoyed 'Lets Knit 2 Gether" and am sad it's gone!
There are others as well, but I want to know...

Do you have a favorite podcast?
I'd love to know what it is, so I can load up my iPad!

So this past week, I've been consumed with the knitting.
It's been all about the knitting!

Well hello!  It's me again!  Gearing up for what I hope to be a very creatively productive weekend!  Since last post, I've only been knitting. On the Wearwithall Stole!  And there's been progress!  Do you see that picture?  That, my friends (may I refer to you all as my friends?), that is progress on the next to last color stripe in this stole! Needless to say I'm pretty excited its nearing the finish line!  I hope I can stay focused thru the weekend and really make headway!  Dare I dream of even binding off this weekend??  That would be quite the feat, as these rows seem to take forever. And there's 36 rows in each color. So I've got 27 rows of red left and then it's time for chartreuse and then the bind off!

There's a fiberfest just a bit up the road from me this weekend, but I think I'm going to resist. Stay the course. And knit on!

What are your weekend plans?

Oh I Feel It Coming Back Again

With each passing day,
I'm finding more of my creative mojo!

In case you were wondering,
it's been missing pretty much since
I arrived in Texas.
Who knew packing up 21 years of your life and
relocating it 850 miles south
would be

But it's coming back, baby!

I bound off the back piece for my Hayward sweater!
I'm using The Verdant Gryphon BUGGA! yarn in the American Rubyspot colorway.
Super squishy with that touch of cashmere!
I promptly cast on for the front piece, so we'll see if I can actually knit a sweater after all!

 And wonder of wonders...
I've been stitching!

Really enjoying this  sampler
from Paulette and her fabbo Plum Street Antiques line!

I am always a sucker for a great reproduction.
And this one is actually moving rather quickly!
I'm using 32ct Vintage Exemplar linen from Lakeside and
a hodgepodge of threads....
some as charted, others from Katrina's conversion,
and a couple of my own.
The linen is showing washed out in my pics, but it's a great
warm tan and looks so old!
The color seems even better on the 32ct vs 40ct.

And then my knitting this evening...

YIKES!  Note to self...move the knitting out from under
flourescent lighting before taking a picture!
This is the Wearwithall Stole and it's NOT neon!
In any way!
Making slow progress.  Those rows are LONG!

This weekend, I also did some pairing up of the great cheddar bow ties
I received for my birthday (Hi Karen!)

I'll be hopefully spending more time at the machine.
Just haven't felt like it for some odd reason.
But...there is progress!

It's coming back....

And Then....

Did you have a good holiday weekend?
Wasn't it wonderful?
I hope you had a good one and got to spend time doing
what you enjoy!

I did!

If you're on Instagram,
then you may know about #fallfridaystitching!

On Friday, I decided to pull my autumnal inclined UFO out of the pile
and get busy on it!

"Thomas" by NotforgottenFarm
I plan to put a few stitches in it every Friday!
Maybe he'll be done by NEXT Thanksgiving!  ;o)

And then...with the weekend in full swing,
I enjoyed some leisurely eats...

And then.....
a dip or two in the pool....

And then....
I got down to business with my Wearwithall Stole!

I've added in the next color!  Whoop Whoop!  I'm over the halfway point!

And then.....
I decided to start yet ANOTHER sampler
(we will save the analyzing of my psyche for a later time)
"1832 Crown Sampler" by Plum Street Antiques

and THEN....

I remembered that I was supposed to knitting a sweater!
So that's what I'm doing tonight!
Working on my Hayward

And then.....
who knows!

Happy Wednesday!

Creative Laboring

Happy Labor Day!

It's a rainy kind of day here in north Texas, so I've got big plans!  Labor of the creative type, so it's not really labor at all!

How will you enjoy the day?
