Horseshoes, this is not.

So "close" doesn't count. But that's where I am on the finishing of the Color Affection shawl before vacation departure. Close. It might come along for the ride, but I've got other things to cast on for the trip. So we'll see! Happy Friday!

The Languishing Quilt

Is another bow tie quilt, for those that asked about it. I'm using two slightly different reds and a larger block! I hope to have it put together shortly after we get back from Dallas!

72 Hours

72 hours!! That's what I've got to work with! 72 hours....to finish this...

That's my Color Affection shawl. I'm getting really close! I'd like to have it done within 72 hours. Because we're leaving for a road trip to Dallas on Friday and I have other projects I want to start on the trip south! So I'll be knit-knit-knitting.....

And that means that the current quilt project will continue to languish in it's current state:

If, by some crazy happenstance, I really kick ass on the shawl and get it done, I'll sew what I can on the blocks between now and Friday. Otherwise it will still be waiting when we return!

As I knit, I'm making mental lists of things to do and see while in Dallas. I'll save those for the next post though! I've got to get back to the knitting!

Done and Moving On!

With the Diakeito Diamussee colorway 41 in the house, I couldn't help myself and finished up the Haiti Scarf last night!

It's ready for blocking! And even though there is quite the little pile waiting for blocking, this one is going on the wires first! I really love this! And it's DONE!

Of course I didn't sit idly by while waiting the week for the yarn to appear, so I cast on the Color Affection shawl in Bugga! last Friday.

And while I "really love" the Haiti scarf, I do believe I'm going to "really love LOVE" this shawl! I'm already planning a second in my mind! I wish you could REALLY see the colors of this one...the pic appears a little washed out. Will try and do better with the pics on the next post!

So it's back to my regularly scheduled knitting!

Well....

after work.....

darn office always screwing with my knitting plans!

Happy Tuesday!

The State of Things

Thought I best pop in here and post! I notice I tend to update the blog more on the weekends. Geez...do you think that 8 to 5 stressor gets in the way of my fun and creativity? Ahem...perhaps! ;o)

Anyhoo...here's the state of things since last weekend!

I finished my Camp Loopy project!

This is the Boneyard Shawl knitted in Kollage Riveting. I LOVE it! It's lightweight and I think it will be great for a cool summer evening!

I've also added two new books to the quilting library.

Both are absolutey wonderful! Highly recommend! Opposite ends of the spectrum but I found many quilts in both books that are on the "Yes! Make that!" list!

And speaking of quilts....I had a couple requests for the pattern I used in my last Indigo and Cheddar quilt. I actually used the Puss In The Corner pattern from the 101 Fabulous Rotary Cut Quilts book. Super simple block! Hope that helps!

And in other news...this happened tonight...

AAAACK! I ran out of yarn! I've got an SOS out on Ravelry so hoping I can find just one more skein of the Diakeito Diamusse in colorway 41! This is the Haiti Scarf, and I'm loving it! I'm using a larger needle and making it more shawl than scarf. Now to find some more of that yarn!

Until next time...
