Behold! The Scarlet!

If you've been keeping your eye on the March Madness happenings, then you know that my beloved Buckeyes...from THE Ohio State University, have made it to THE FINAL FOUR!

Woooohooo Buckeyes!!

So to honor the Scarlet & Gray, I've decided to spend most of my creative time doing things in SCARLET!

As soon as the Buckeyes clinched the spot in the Final Four, I cast on this.


It's the Cambria Wrap, and I'm using some luscious Skinny Bugga! from the stash in the Tomato Frog colorway. This will not be a quick project...but I'll enjoy working with that SCARLET!

Then last night I stitched while watching The Antiques Roadshow...


I stitched the red "Mary Prentice", among other areas!

And then tonight...


I started cutting out a quilt. More on this to come..but it's RED! er..ahem..I mean SCARLET!

Behold! The Scarlet! and GO BUCKEYES!!

The elephants are bound, washed, dried and puckered! Aaaaah! How was your today?

The Natural Progression

Well. The house is cleaned. Had a wonderful lunch with my pal, Karen, watched the Buckeyes win and move to the Sweet Sixteen, and finished binding one of the elephants! Guess this means it's time to climb under this for a little Saturday siesta!

Almost!

It's almost the weekend! I'm trying to make it to 5:00. I think with a little help from my friends, I'll get there! How's your Friday going ?

Taming Elephants

The elephant currently residing in the living room is quilt binding handwork. I'm slowly taming the elephants!

Do You Love Your iPhone?

How about your iPad? I seriously can't remember life before my iPhone! LOL and to think I was leery of leaving my beloved Blackberry! But it's true...I recently cast aside the Crackberry and the iPhone 4s...complete with Siri...has taken its place!

Now I'm never bored! So many things on this phone!!!

Finding the Zen

There's something methodical, mesmerizing and oh so soothing about knitting the Noro Striped Scarf. Watching and waiting for the next color to appear. It never gets old. I need this kind of zen right now!

Quilt Binding Abounds!

First off, thanks to everyone for the well-wishes after my slippery fall! I'm practically back to good, so it's all good! Nothing a few days of rest and Advil couldn't cure! Whew! Needless to say for those few days I couldn't really use my shoulder. BOOOOOO!!! No knitting or stitching or anything! WHA!?!? I didn't like it. But am back to good now and have finished binding a couple quilts!

Today I put the final stitches in the binding on My French Coverlet! Woooohooo!


I couldn't wait to get it in the washer and then thru the dryer to get that lovely puckery pucker going!


It was quilted by my pal, Kay, who has a machine quilting business, Charmed I'm Sure. She did a mock baptist fan and I love it!

Another recently bound quilt.....


The Yellow Snow Quilt! I love the backing almost as much as the pieced top! ;o) This one was freehand cross-hatched by Susan aka Fat Quarter Quilt Farm!


Love love love it!! It looks so springy! This one has a bamboo/cotton blend batting in it, Luna from Moda, and it washed up and dried nice and puckery too! It has a nice drapey feeling....doesn't seem quite as stiff as cotton. Have you tried it? I really do like it and will use it again!

I have two more quilts down in the quilt den waiting for binding, so I cut and sewed binding strips today after I finished the handwork on these.

And then...I baked.


These. Peanut Butter & Jelly Bars. And they were good! MUST. HAVE. MILK!! I used grape jam, though not quite as much as this recipe called for and I'm glad. I think they may have been a bit too sweet had I used the entire 1 1/2 cups.

And while they were baking...I knit.


Slow progress on the Sunday Market Shawl, but it's a joy to work with this Fleece Artist Somoko. Loving the color!

I may pick up a sampler now and stitch the rest of the evening. I'm not ready for the weekend to end!
