Prepping, A Potluck...and a Sampler Kit Giveaway!

I've been busily stitching away on that secret stitching project, so have not really had much to share over the past couple of weeks!  I have guilt about that!  ha!

I did share recent stash enhancement, and several asked me what I was kitting up! Well...I'm prepping!  Not the doomsday kind (ahem...I question the sanity of some people).  Nope.  I'm prepping for a New Years Start!

The linen and most of the silks are for this!

Charlotte Clayton!  After seeing Deb's and Cari's...and looking online and finding Nicole's...and of course, Margaret's, well, it's time I bite the bullet!  Pay no mind to the pile of January 2012 starts that have yet to be finished.  Ahem.

Hmmm...maybe I AM a doomsday prepper, of the creative kind!  ;o)

That said, I do feel bad about my blogging absence and lack of interesting things to share with you!  So...I'm going to have a giveaway!  So at least when one visits my blog over the course of the next week or so, there's something worthwhile here!

I'm giving away a Scarlet Letter kit!

Because maybe YOU need to stockpile some stitching projects as well!

This is the Scarlet Letter sampler kit...Tablet Sampler.  Complete with 35 ct linen and DMC floss!  Opened for photographs, it's back in it's packaging and ready to head to a new stash!

If you'd like to add this one to your stash, just leave a comment here and share your favorite side dish/salad idea for Thanksgiving!  I'm wanting to expand my horizons and add a couple new things to the menu this year and would LOVE to hear what unique things you have on your Thanksgiving table!

So that's it!  Just leave a comment with your favorite side dish/salad idea, and you'll be entered.  I'll come back and draw a winner next Saturday!  Tell your friends and favorite stitchers and we'll have a big ol' cyber potluck right here on the blog!

And now...off I go to get that secret stitching done!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

*Peace!

Ooh, pretty sampler. I'd love to be included in your drawing.

One of my favorite side dishes on thanksgiving is a cranberry orange relish. I will be happy to share the recipe if you are interested. It makes a tart, sweet combination that offsets the turkey so well.

Oh I thought that you would do this beautiful sampler. It's worth all of the hair pulling and wondering when it would be done lol. Mine looks lovely hanging in my hallway and I always enjoy looking at it.

Charlotte is another beautiful one. BTW no need to enter me in your giveaway.

This sampler is gorgeous! Thanks for the chance!

At our house, it's not Thanksgiving OR Christmas if we haven't made candied yams! Our version is very simple.....cut up and boiled yams, then piled in a baking dish with dots of butter and a ton of brown sugar over the top. Bake for about an hour while everything else is finishing up. Yum!

It's almost Christmas in our house as DH will be leaving soon. A lot of stitching will be getting done while he's away and I've also been admiring the Charlotte Clayton sampler for a while now. Perhaps that one will also be added to my stash...

I need to get back to my Charlotte! It's such a fun stitch! We don't really have anything unusual at Thanksgiving. But it's not Thanksgiving without the green bean casserole! :)

Beautiful sampler! Thanks for the chance to win it.
My favorite Thanksgiving side dish is a jello mold whichis really odd because it's the only jello I eat. The bottom half is lime jello with cream cheese and walnuts and the top half is lemon jello with apple pieces in it. Truth be told I skip the top and just eat the yummy bottom half.

Great giveaway!
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving in the UK but my favourite dish at the moment is sausages, mash and onion gravy!!

The sampler is beautiful. I appreciate the chance to enter and perhaps win. I love roasted figs with goat cheese wrapped in proscuitto and we like a spring mix with roasted beets sugar pecans with akso gota cheese and a special fig balsamic vinagarette

I like a Cranberry Relish I got off NPR about 20 years ago. It has stuff like onions, horseradish, & sour cream in it. You freeze it first, so it can be made days ahead of time.
And I need another sampler start (yeah, right!), so I'm crossing my fingers to win!

I'm a very picky eater so there are no fancy dishes on my table. I tend to stick to stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, turkey, and the nasty marshmallow yams for my husband. ICKY!!

I'd love to do Charlotte Clayton too - a DF of mine is stitching her - beautiful ! I'll pass on your giveaway - I know I would never stitch it but thanks for the opp - I'll give my chance to someone else. Hope you've been knitting ?? We try to do a few different things every year for T-giving - but there are a few standards like cornbread dressing (yep we're very southern) sweet potato casserole but with a crunchy pecan topping not that sweet marshmallow stuff and of course pumpkin pie and if we're lucky my mom will make one of her awesome coconut cream pies. Now I'm hungry - Have a great weekend - Mel

Hi Kim, I'm looking forward to seeing your Charlotte Clayton sampler! I've been eying that one for a long time! Speaking of eyeing, I love that SL tablet letter and would love to be entered in your giveaway!!

My favorite thanksgiving side is stuffing, only I cheat a bit. I start with the Williams-Sonoma foccacia stuffing mix and prepare it according to the directions. But, before tossing it in the oven I add diced Granny Smith apples and diced bratwurst. It's yummy, give it a try!!! Jen

Kim, I'd be so thrilled to win your generous giveaway! The Tablet Sampler is oe I've wanted for a very long time.

One of my Thanksgiving favorites is a fruit salad with equal proportions of mandarin orange, pineapple, coconut, marshmallows and sour cream. Yummy as it is on the big day, the leftovers are great with turkey sandwiches too!

Well one side I like is a jello salad made with whole berry cranberry sauce, pecan, apple, and celery.
I have wanted to do Charlotte Clayton but haven't succumbed yet. What fabric are you using on And They Sinned?
Thanks for entering my name in your giveaway.
Happy Stitching!
