Fun! & A Finish!

How stinkin' excited do you think I was when I read my name as a WINNER for a giveaway on Barbara Brackman's blog!? I had to look twice to make sure I was THAT KwiltyKim! And I was! These have arrived!

Since they came with a directive from Barbara to "Have fun!" that is exactly what I intend to do with them! I love the faded colors in this will blend well with many others down in the quilt den! Thank you, again, Barbara!

I've also added to the 'needs to be blocked' stack...which means I have a finish!

My Sunday Market Shawl is done! Woooohooo! How fun do you think it was to purposely drop stitches?

Not only to purposely drop them, but the help them along all the way the length of this shawl? It was really fun to watch the laddering appear! Fun pattern and I will be knitting another!

I'm on to another project that is moving along quickly!

This is the Lacy Baktus...and I'm using Malabrigo Sock in the Turner A colorway and I am addicted to knitting this!

It's a good thing I'm addicted to this project, because I need to finish it by month's end. Next month is May ya know! And that means at the stroke of midnight May 1, I'll be casting on a project for the MadMay challenge on Ravelry! Thanks to Mel for mentioning the challenge! I've got my yummy Madelinetosh MCN caked and ready to cast on!

Here's hoping you're having fun too!

Finally! A Sewing Saturday!

Aaaaah! Sure seems like a long time since I've spent a chunk of a Saturday down in the quilt den sewing! But that's what I've done with most of my afternoon today.

I finished this! It's a smallish (24 x 30) bow tie quilt, made from scraps off my cutting table and shirtings. Blocks measure 3" and they were quite fun to make!

This one may end up framed. I am pleased.

And I started the next quilt too...

Feels good to spend some time sewing today!

I hope you're enjoying your day as well!

Pressing Issues & Possibilities

I believe I've fallen into the knitting abyss. It seems that's all that's ever on my mind lately! I live in Ravelryland.....constantly culling the queue...plotting...planning....ready to cast on in a moment's notice!

In a week's time I cast on and finished this.

Multnomah Shawl...knit in Bugga!....Lubber Grasshopper....and I was stunned at how SMALL it turned out! WHA? But I've been assured I need to just ruthlessly block it and all will be well.

So I added it to the pile that needs blocked.

It's currently keeping my Guernsey Wrap company. I hope to get to the blocking in the next week or so.

But guilt took over this evening and forced me downstairs to actually work on the quilt in progress.

And I did make progress! The pile was made this evening....and now the pressing awaits!

But there's no time for pressing pieces tonight! Nope...I have to get back to this...

Sunday Market Shawl then I can decide what to do with THIS....

900 yards of Skinny Bugga! goodness.....Florida Blue Centipede. Oh the possibilities!

Hello Saturday!

I hope you're enjoying the day! I was up a bit late last night finishing up the latest knitting project.

This is the baktus scarf that made the rounds a couple years ago.

I used Lornas Laces Sport in the Gold Hill colorway.

Another recently finished knitting project....

another Noro Striped Scarf. So far it appears this one will get to stay with me! It's very neutral and subdued! And warm! And won't be my last one! I've got some reallllllyy colorful Noro waiting. But it can wait until after the summer I think!

In other happenings around here, Easter dinner prep has begun.

The cheesecake is cooling! And the orange bundt cake is almost ready to come out of the oven!

I can only hope the laundry is doing itself, because I'm ready to knit for a bit!

Happy Saturday!

And There Is Movement

Seems lately I've been eating, drinking and sleeping nothing but knitting. I'm in deep folks. That's a good thing though! I love it. I'll have some things to show you soon!

But tonight.....

There is movement in the quilt den!

Let Them Eat CAKE!

I'm going to drown my sorrows in brownie pudding cake today...following the meltdown of my beloved Buckeyes.

Surely THIS will make it all better!

Pic is from "FRAMED" blog

Do you read the blog "FRAMED"?? If not, you're missing out on some superb recipes! Here's the link for this brownie pudding cake, that you make in a crockpot! My crockpot is ready...I'm turning this on at noon and will enjoy it this evening!

Yep...with ice cream!

But now I'm heading down to the quilt den for some fun time! Happy Sunday!
