Prep Work

Over the past few days I've been busy with lots of "prep work".

Quilts have been picked up from the longarm quilter, another I quilted on my Bernina...then attached binding to all of them. Prepped and ready for the hand work!

I also FINALLY pulled out my 32ct vintage Pearled Barley and cut it to size for the SDW sampler, AND got it sewn to scroll rods!

This will be my first time using this lap frame from Ks Creations. I thought since SDW is sooooo loooooong, I needed to try this frame. So that's prepped and ready!

These have also been piling up...

so templates have been printed...fabric has been unbundled....and I'm ready (finally!) to get started on this Block of the Month...

Yes it's true. Deb over at Thread Gatherer and I have been collecting the bundles from Primitive Gatherings since the beginning of the year, and we're getting started on this great super pieced quilt!!!

Lots of prep work and lots of projects in the works!!! What do you have prepped and ready?

*Peace!

Wow, lots of fun projects. Can't wait to see your progress on them. I have Ann Pennsylvania Peacock, Houses of Hawk Run Hollow and Hannah Lovina all pulled and ready to stitch :-).

Woo Hoo Kim - I'm so glad that you're ready. Looks like we got the same fabrics so it's going to be fun to see how our blocks come out (I have no sense of adventure so I play by the rules and copy the pictures - LOL). And I hear we've got another one on board and I'm trying to convince a fourth. This is going to be a lot of fun.

Maybe we all meet up after and have a girls weekend of show and tell! Could be a lot of fun!

Better go get my exercise and shower in. Perhaps I can get a couple more blocks done today!!

Wow, that's going to be a beauty when it's finished! And I say "when," bc I know you'll finish it! You amaze me with how much you get done, gf!

Can't wait to see yours and Deb's progress!!

You have been really busy! Good job with all of those projects. I'm still trying to figure out what SDW is? Looks like a beautiful color!
Take Care.

Kim, looks like you'll be busy with the handwork for a while! Are you planning to do the Farmer's piece by hand or machine? I have yet to buy the book, but it's on my list!

Nice bundles of Civil War fabrics there. I am getting that BOM through another quilt shop and have fallen behind as usual. Some of these blocks are labor intensive and some are super easy, still not sure if I'm liking them much.

Woo Hoo... you've been busy and so organized. YGG My good intentions fall apart when it gets to the hand sewing of the binding... those quilts can sit there for months waiting for that to happen.
Looking forward to seeing your progress on SDW and the Farmer's Wife quilt blocks.
Deb enabled me and now I'll be joining you on the FW quilt BOM.

You have so many great projects going - I don't know how you do all you do! I'll make Deb show me her quilt in person when you guys get going on them but if you do have a girls weekend - I want to come too!

What neat projects, Kim! I can't wait to see all those quilts. And SDW! I saw Carol's when it was still a WIP. I normally wouldn't have looked twice at it from the chart picture, but having seen it in person, I now have the chart and need to get to it at some point. Love that BOM that you're doing, too! I am ever so slowly stepping back into quilting and am so excited about it. Don't have a machine yet (voltage issues meant I couldn't bring my US machine here) so for now I am hand piecing hexagons and am going crazy over the Civil War Bride quilt. Anyway, can't wait for the reveal on all these projects of yours, and am excited about seeing your BOM as it progresses.
