So I've been trudging on with "the ick needle"...stopping to buff it up a bit here and there with a small cloth that I believe I'm supposed to use for my glasses! Whatever works........so tonight I finished up Mystery Part #2!

I know I keep saying this...but I am really really enjoying this stitch! It's so fun and simple and is coming together right under my hands quickly! And the colors! LOVE them!!!!

Now Part #3 will most likely take a bit more time. There's the big honkin' fully-stitched abode in the center....so I'm hoping I can get thru that and be on Part #4 by the end of the month. Now if I get to Part #4 sooner...well then that'll just be a bonus for me! :o)
In quilting news....I went downstairs this morning to fluff some clothes before work...and sat down at the Bernina and started a new quilt. Should be super simple...I'm using a Moda jelly roll....if you're not familiar, they're die cut 2 1/2" strips of an entire collection. Super easy way to take the tedious cutting/prep work out of a quilt! I found a quilt in the book "Jelly Roll Quilts" by Pam Lintott & Nicky Lintott. I think it'll be a fun quick piecer that will showcase this line of fabrics I'm using! Minick & Simpson American Primer jelly roll....lovely sagey greens and wonderful reds, mustard golds and blue. I hope it turns out like I think it will! I'll share pics when there's something to see! Hopefully this weekend!
It surely feels like tomorrow should be Friday...but, alas, tis only Thursday! I keep remembering that quote that says something about doing what you LOVE to do and then you'll never have to WORK another day in your life. So I'm on a quest...a mission...slowly but surely! :o) Do you do what you LOVE? Do you feel like it's WORK or not? I would love to hear from you and how you deal with a job that you maybe don't particularly care to do....or what you did to get out of that sort of situation!!! The hubs has a contracting business.....I keep telling him we'll just line up a few more jobs and I'll retire. ha! at 43! Retire at 43! Wouldn't that be lovely!
I hope your week's been going great and you're getting lots of creative time!
*Peace!

Oh, lovely mystery! It's so pretty! I can't wait to see the new quilt either. I love your quilts!
Those needles will be worth the wait! Your stitching is beautiful. I love my job as a teacher, but would still love to retire and do whatever I feel like! lol
You're making wonderful progress on the mystery, Kim. Can't wait to see some of your progress on your quilt. Aren't Moda fabrics the best? I've got a few of their jelly rolls and I'm always afraid to cut them! The colors that you're using now sound so nice!
The mystery sampler is looking gorgeous, great progress
Kim, that is gorgeous! I LOVE those birds in it! I'm sorry I'm not much help about the job..I love, love, love my job as a medical trx. It does get stressful at times, but not too often. School was a time hog, but I could easily become a professional student..you know..if someone wanted to pay me. lol. MM
Oh goodness, it is fabulous!! One I do want to stitch someday!!
As for doing what you love, I totally agree, but you know even the bestest of jobs, sometimes has aspects that I DON'T love. Guess that is just the scheme of things! Reward systems work great for me, get the things I don't like to do, done, then I am free to do what I LOVE!!
Woo! Fabulous progress, Kim! It's coming along great. I can't wait to see your new quilt, the colors sound FABULOUS. I love those jelly rolls... I often think it'd be great to use them in a log cabin quilt, just slap those strips on there, especiall if it's paper pieced. I hope you'll share some WIP pics!
As for loving your job... my DH owns a company in the building industry and I've always done all the paperwork for it. Billing, A/R, payroll, bookkeeping, all the secretarial stuff. Truthfully, I hate it. I like knowing what's going on but I don't like math and messing with people's money in their wages makes me nervous. We have an accountant that does most of the official stuff but it still makes me nervous. It is what it is, though; I get to stay home but I also draw a salary. So, go figure. ? I don't know what the answer is!
Looking good Kim. I turned my friend on to Piecemaker #26 needles. She said she had no idea that there were differences in needles. Now she hates using anything but the Piecemakers.
